It’s when we’re pinned on the horns of a dilemma that we want to make decisions that are the most absolute. It’s easier to give in to the urgency of the moment than it is to weigh the consequences. Unfortunately, these sorts of resolutions rarely work out. They may bring relief from the internal struggle, but they tend to be short-sighted because the sacrifice is too great or not great enough.
